Forbes is a global media company, focusing on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle.

The Forbes top 30 under 30 is an avenue that seeks to honor and acknowledge young trailblazers. People that seek to change the narrative one tiny laborious step at a time. 

The 30 Under 30 List features 120 of Africa’s achievers under the age of 30 in four categories; business, technology, creatives, and sport.

Making it to the Forbes Africa top 30 under 30 is an enviable and noteworthy achievement. It speaks highly of a country and an individual.

These four individuals have undoubtedly soared the Kenyan flag high. They are;

1. Dr. Joan Ruguru

Ruguru Kimani, as she prefers to be called, is blazing the trail through her outstanding work in the area of Child Health and Parenting.

Her passionate engagement with Child Health and Parenting issues has now launched her to the continent’s limelight, following her latest acknowledgment and listing as one of the Top 30 under 30 Africans by Forbes AFRICA.

Ruguru Kimani has bagged several accolades and recognition, including 'the Top 35 under 35 Youth of the Year Award 2020,' out of her continual passion for Child Health and Parenting matters.

2. Elsa Majimbo

Elsa Majimbo is an Internet comedienne. She went viral globally, through videos posted on her digital platforms at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

After the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 recognition, she tweeted;

"Imagine posting videos cause of boredom and ending up on Vogue, GQ, etc, getting Forbes 30 under 30 and other awards, moving to LA and creating a global audience, and way more. What is going on? How did we get here ?"

Majimbo has landed various lucrative deals, among them being with American singer Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Cosmetics as a brand ambassador and an opportunity to feature in multiple world-renowned shows e.g. The Steve Harvey Show.

3. Sylvia Gathoni

Sylvia Gathoni alias Queen Arrow is a Kenyan e-sports guru. She is a law graduate and Kenya’s first female pro-e-sports athlete.

4. Mukuru Clean Stoves

Mukuru clean stove, which was founded in 2017, is a social enterprise that designs, produces, and distributes improved, reliable, and affordable cook stoves for low-income households.

They have developed a low-cost clean cook stove that uses 30-60% less fuel compared to other traditional stoves on the market and reduces toxic smoke emissions by 50-90%.

The Environmental Science graduate Charlot Magayi, says the idea was refined during her days at Kenyatta University.
