You just got a new pair of crisp white sneakers and in as much as you want to flex you are also afraid of them getting dirty because the cleaning process is not a walk in the park.

I'm actually starting to think most people pretend to like the aesthetic of worn out shoes because there is no struggle when it comes to cleaning them and you can walk around with dirty shoes without people judging you much.

Well fret not, you can rock your white pair and still have them looking crisp for longer.

The effort required depends on the material of the shoes for example leather sneakers are the easiest to clean than knit or canvas ones as for canvas grime works its way into the shoe’s fabric.

Here is the trick... toothpaste.

Yes you read that correctly. Toothpaste isn't just great for your dental hygiene it works excellent wonders on your shoes as well as it's actually an excellent cleaning agent

To clean white shoes with toothpaste, use an old toothbrush and a non-gel white toothpaste.

Allow the paste to rest for ten minutes after working it into the fabric of the shoes then wipe the toothpaste off your shoe with a moist cloth and repeat if required.

Alternatively you can make a mixture which is super easy, all you need to do is add 3 tablespoons of toothpaste to a bowl and enough water to it then mix it out.

You can also add a little of dish soap to the mixture if you like to help the cleaning process.

A key important ingredient is a whitening toothpaste, whitening toothpaste has hydrogen peroxide and other whitening substances in it that will help make your shoes even whiter.

Slightly apply a little water to the entire white shoe to soften the dirt on it. If your shoes are really dirty, with dusty and grass stains, you will need to apply some of the physical toothpaste on the dirtiest area.

Start by dipping the toothbrush in the mixture you made and scrub the entire shoe in circular motions until the dirt starts coming off.

After you're done scrubbing the shoes, add some warm water to a bowl, and use a microfibre cleaning cloth to wipe down the entire shoe.

When you’re done, wipe them down with a damp towel to clear off any remaining suds and voilà you're done.
