Kenyan singer Petra recently announced on Instagram that she is quitting music after a long successful journey. 

Further stating that she does not want to be associated with it anymore.

   "I Petra Bockle do not want to be associated with the music industry in any way, shape or form, I hereby disown it willingly in sound mind. GMI by @kingpheezle feat me is the last you will ever hear from me musically I appreciate all the love from you my fans ❤️."

She added;

"GMI (Goodbye music industry) by @kingpheezle feat me LOADING... P.S. The word "Bitch" on the track applies to both males and females we are gender-neutral over here we don't discriminate 🐐."

Petra is of Kenyan and Seychellois descent and is based in Pwani Kenya.

The songwriter said that her songs were influenced by 2pac, Eminem, MC Lyte, and Lil Kim.

The rapper made her first appearance in music in 2013 in the Ligi Soo remix that featured Mejja, Kaka Sungura, Jay A, Mandraxx, and many others.

She won the Best Female Awards in Kenya Coast Awards in 2012 and later in 2015 she won the Best Female Hip Hop Artist in Pwani Celebrity Awards.

The song became a hit and it made her famous.

In 2018, collaborated with the hip hop star, Kalighraph Jones on the hit song "Rider," but controversy arose when she was featured eating raw liver in the music video.

After the collabo, she was featured in Khali Kartel Cypher where she impressed everyone with amazing powerful lyrics.

In the same year, she made her solo debut with the release of her first EP, titled Petra Bockle-vol 1. 

The EP did pretty well , she later got a collabo with Victoria Kiamani, 'I Got That'.

In 2019, she wasn't that active but she released a single collabo with J Strong, 'Dunno', and a solo 4sure.

 In 2020 she became more active and released a couple of projects where she collaborated with different artists.

 Pepea, mine, and Wanani by Bahati was a remix featuring her, Mejja, Odi wa Muranga, Benzema, and Ssaru. The song was a big hit in the whole of 2020.

Some of her successful songs on Spotify include "Dreamy In Color," "Mambo ni Leo," and "Territory."

 In 2022, she collaborated with Tanzanian Bongo star Alikiba on the song "Love."
