• Several celebrities from the comedy industry have converged at the Chiromo Chapel to pay tribute to the late Fred Omondi.

• The late Fred Omondi died in a traffic incident June 15th

The memorial service for the late comedian Fred Omondi saw family and friends join Eric Omondi to pay their final respects to his brother.

The service was held at the Chiromo Funeral Parlor Chapel.

Comedian 2Mbili eulogized him, noting the contribution Fred had to mentoring new and upcoming talent

"I don't believe that Fred is not there. He gave opportunities to everybody. Personally, when I was being rejected in the industry Fred gave me opportunities. He paid for them. I met Fred in late 2012 he showed me how to host club gigs, and he believed in me." he added about his appreciation for the late star.

Terence revealed he received the news of Fred's death before the family.

"When the incident happened, coincidentally the officer that was on sight is a family friend. He called me and asked me, unajua ndugu ya Eric? Nikamuuliza mgani? Because he is a traffic officer, he told me there had been an accident and he was dead. I asked the officer if he was sure. He told me he had the ID. I confirmed when he sent me the ID"

Terence then confirmed to the Traffic Police officer that the dead man was Eric Omondi's brother.

He called Eric to break the news.

The late Fred Omondi died in a traffic incident on June 15th. He was on a boda boda coming from an event along Kangundo Road at 6 am.

The accident involved a Mitsubishi bus driven by Forward Sacco, and a boda coming from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road.
