Sensual multi-award-winning artist Bensoul is still advocating for the legalisation of weed (bhang) despite facing backlash in the past for the very same remarks.

The father of one insisted that the government needs to look into the legalization of the herb noting it has more benefits than people give it credit for.

In a bid to back up his claims, he insisted he was not calling for its legalisation due to people like him who enjoy the smoke but he wanted it made legal due to its medicinal advantages.

"Let’s legalise this, not just because people like us smoke it...The medicinal uses of this plant could significantly change our country’s medical industry," the 'Nairobi' hitmaker said during an interview he did with SPM Buzz.

The singer, whose love for weed is so big that he even wrote and released a whole song in dedication to the plant, (the song is dubbed 4:20) went on to emphasise bhang's ability to promote relaxation and meditation.

He argued there were worse drugs in the market which had no positive effects but weed on the other hand can rise above this.

“There are many distracting drugs out there but Bhang offers a natural alternative," the father of one said.

2 months ago, Bensoul publicly stated that there is no single case that has been reported, that he is aware of, that states a person went mad because of using marijuana. He further went on to explain the medicinal effects the drug has.
