Months after the Grammy's awards were handed out, Nigerian Afro beats artist Ahmed Ololade popularly known as Asake has addressed how it felt not bagging an award.

The 'Lonely At The Top' crooner had been nominated under the 'Best African Music Performance'  category during the 66th annual music award ceremony.  But sadly, he lost the award to breakthrough South African artist Tyla.

Speaking during a feature he did with GQ Magazine the artist revealed that unlike most artists who were devastated upon not taking the Golden Award home, he was entirely chill about the whole thing and doesn't even consider it a loss.

It [Grammy loss] is not a loss for me," stated the artist.

He went on to add that he was actually hopeful that he might bag not just one but even maybe a couple of Grammy awards next year or the year to come and that is why he is not pressed about this year's loss.

"I might just get more next year. But in my head, I was not even taking it too seriously. I appreciate the fact that they nominated me—I won’t lie, that’s a lot to me. Even, I didn’t see that coming this soon. I’m relaxed about it. Maybe because I know there will be a day that win will come,” Asake who is working on a new album said.

Speaking about his sophomore album dubbed, ‘Work Of Art,’ the artist noted the main aim of his art in this album was to pull down veils and let his fans get to know him as he is pretty chill and low-key.

People don’t really know me because I’m quiet. So everybody started seeing me as a mystery. ‘Work of Art’ is just for them to know me. You have to understand I’m human, but you can’t just deny the heart in me," said the artist.
