A Tanzanian man has revealed that he lost his eyesight while reading a new contract after landing a job.

The middle-aged man identified as Morris narrates that he carried the contract home but the more he was reading the more his eyesight failed him.

“Nilikua naona vizuri lakini sasa naona kiza. Shida ilianza nilipopewa mkataba wa kazi, nilikua nafanya kazi masaki, ule mkataba ulikua una vigezo na masharti hivyo nikaamua kuchukua nikausomee nyumbani . Nilivyoanza kuusoma kadri nilivyokua naendelea nikaanza kuona macho yanafifia,” Morris narrated.

(I used to see clearly but now I just see darkness. The problem started after I was given a job contract. I used to work in Masaki and the contract had terms and regulations to be followed so I carried it to go read at home. However, the more I read the contract the more I realized that I was struggling to see).

Morris was forced to seek medical treatment at a time when one eye had already lost vision.

Sadly he was informed that his second eye was also losing vision and soon he would go blind.

“When I went for a check they told me that I had already lost one eye and the other one was also going blind. After a while is completely lost my vision. All this happened in 2020,” he narrated.

The father of two further disclosed that his wife dumped him after losing his eyesight- as he was struggling to provide for his family.

“My wife ran away after losing my vision… she took away one of our children who was still young and the other one stays with my younger sister,” the man said.

The man went in to admit that since going blind, he struggles to make ends meet – but he is not giving up on God as he is his provider.
