Police in Uganda have arrested a 110-year-old man over allegations of killing his 109-year-old wife over denying him conjugal rights.
The incident that happened in Ntungamo district, Kahunga Parish was confirmed by Rwizi Police spokesperson Samson Kasasira.
Kasasira said that the man identified as Dominic Babiiha murdered his wife Costansio Bakasisa using a billhook on Saturday.
“It is alleged that at around 8:00 pm on December 14, the deceased had turned down his husband’s request to join him in bed because she was feeling weak and had a cough, and that the two peasants went to sleep in separate rooms with the deceases moving in with his two great-grandchildren,” Kasasira said as reported by Daily Monitor.
The police spokesperson noted that early the suspect was heard saying that he couldn’t die alone.
“It’s then that the suspect started stabling the deceased multiple times which forced the grandchildren to run out and seek help from neighbors,”
It was reported that when the neighbors arrived they found Bakasisa dead while her husband was unconscious in the room he had locked himself in. A bottle of agrochemical was found beside him.
The police report further stated that the couple was married and staying in the same house but in different rooms.
