Globally acclaimed Kenya artist Bien Baraza Alusa has revealed his worst and best Kenyan traditional meals, and the response doesn't come as a huge surprise.

Bien got candid during an appearance he made at IMO podcast where he delved on what fueled his stomach and what totally repulsed him.

"What is your worst struggle meal?" The IMO podcast hosts asked Bien.

And without missing a beat, Bien was quick top go on a mini narration stating how much he hates githeri... his disdain for the meal is so strong that it is banned from his house!

“Githeri, it is a mixture of maize and beans. I hate that food so much, like I can't stand it... I can't tolerate it in my house!" Started off the 'Bald Men Love Better' hitmaker.

He went on to highlight that even his mom and wife, dance instructor and choreographer, Chiki Kuruka know how much he detests Kenya's top 3 staple meal.

Outlining his dislike for the meal, Bien went on to reveal that he had asked his house help to never ever under any circumstances prepare kitheri in his house.

I actually do share Bien's sentiments because, hiyo ni nini? I mean I've never actually had the meal but it's not the most inviting thing in the planet.

Barely makes any sense plus I feel most people dislike githeri from their public high school experiences.

"At home I told my domestic worker, my mother knows and even my wife knows that no one is allowed to cook that kind of food in my kitchen," Bien added without batting an eyelid.

Bien went on to add that he had tried giving the meal a chance and has tried pimping it but nothing works.

"I have tried it with nicely cooked beans with avocado, with blue band, royco and all that and nothing! I can't stand it! I also don't do cabbage, I'm scarred for life from high school so I'm done with those two meals,"

The hosts seemed to have misunderstood Bien and thought he was talking about ugali because of the maize bit but were quickly left speechless after Bien clearly explained that githeri was just boiled maize and beans and can be friend with onions and tomatoes.

'In Zimbabwe we have sadza and posho..." one of the host said tried to also be relatable with the githeri story but Bien quickly cut him off noting that is their version of ugali and then proceeded to elaborate what githeri is.

"Why would you do that? I thought you were talking about ugali!" The IMO podcast host said in utter disbelief.

"No, I love ugali! Love ugali with all my heart! Eehh guys pleasem I love ugali to death," Bien replied as the 2 podcast hosts burst out laughing at the little confusion that had transpired while trying to grasp the concept of githeri.
