These media personalities have fallen due to health complications, drug addiction, unstable mental health, and even court cases.

Some just disappeared without a trace and others just saw them leave.

Here are some of the media personalities that went from riches to rags;

1. Kimani Mbugua

Former Citizen TV personality Kimani Mbugua's plea for help amid his disclosure that he was homeless.

Kimani this past weekend appeared in an online video, confessing his dire state. Kenyans consoled him with messages that he would bounce back.

Kimani battles bipolar disorder which majorly affects a person's mood.

Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration.

The middle-aged man has now appealed for help to get back on his feet after leaving the hospital last week and it has been 2 months since he last used drugs.

He is pleading for help.

2. Esther Arunga

She worked as an announcer and journalist at 98.4 Capital FM in Nairobi and for the Kenya Television Network. She won the 2008 CHAT Award for Best Teen TV Anchor/Presenter.

She was first engaged to Wilison Malaba in 2009 but called it off in 2010 after her parents said that they wanted to marry her off to a politician in the government.

In that very year in Feb she, Quincy Timberlake, and Hellon built a church named PlaCenta Patrty when Arunga resigned from her Kenya Television Network.

This is where her first public arrest started after the police claimed that the church had been running an unregistered association though it has been registered for the past 5 years.

She was then married to Timberlake and later they relocated to Australia because they felt unsafe

after the church incident.

In June 2014, the elder of the couple's two sons died after an apparent accident at their home. In September of that year, her husband was charged with the murder of the child, to which he subsequently pleaded not guilty in court.

Esther Timberlake was later charged as an accessory and was released on bail. She gave new evidence that her husband had used healing techniques on the boy and had pressed his stomach repeatedly and thrown him against a wall.

She is reported to have changed her name to Chryslertte Providence Timberlake. In 2016 she was reported to have been working somewhere in Australia.

3. Ezekiel Apindi

He was a former Kiss TV presenter and also a musician during his days.

The former TV presenter while speaking during an interview with YouTuber Presenter Ali in April 2022 blamed witchcraft for his woes.

Apini revealed that he worked as a presenter on Kiss TV hosting the ‘Jah Rise’ show for one year before he quit the job due to enemies’ witchcraft.

The former TV presenter is currently living on the streets of Rongai and earns a living by selling arts and crafts. He insists that his enemies are still fighting with him and that their witchcraft is making him lead a miserable life.

Some good Samaritans gave him a hand and groomed him, now he has a place to reside.
