The death of Nigerian singer Mohbad has been the talk in Nigeria. Many are demanding for justice to be served with questions about the former Naira Marley-owned record label signee.
After his death on September 12th, he was immediately buried but Nigerians demanded for answers on how his death occurred. His body was later exhumed for autopsy which is still ongoing. Some social media users speculated that he might have been buried alive.
But Perez Medcare Hospital located in Victoria Island, Lagos has shut down the claims saying that the singer was brought into their premises when he had already died on the 12th of September at approximately 04:30 p.m.
“The attention of the management of Perez Medicare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information circulated in some social media platforms that Mr Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mobbed) died in our medical facility." read the statement
“We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30 pm on the 12th of September 2023, the lifeless body of Mr Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility, and our medical team immediately sprang into action."
The hospital added that after assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs, and his pupils were fixed and dilated.
“On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigour mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body concerning death) was observed, and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).”
Nigerians had previously taken to the streets for a candle vigil to pay tribute to the singer.
