Popular Ugandan Journalist Martha Kemigisha Kagimba aka Martha K has chopped off her signature dreadlocks after 14 years.

Martha shared an emotional video capturing the โ€œThe Big Chopโ€™ that happened a few days ago.

According to the talented media personality, she opted to shave her hair after she fell sick and wanted to embark on a new journey after healing.

She went on to highlight that sometimes hair carries Trauma over the years and therefore it's not a bad idea to chop it off during a healing process.

โ€œThey say your hair carries Trauma over the years and so if ever you feel like chopping your hair off during healing, do it!

โ€œYour body needs it. Your mind deserves it. I've wanted to cut my hair since I fell sick but I've just been so afraid of what I'd look like. Last week, I finally got the courage so I grabbed those scissors and went for it.

I feel so free. So alive. So light. It is the beginning of a new era.  This is your sign to do whatever it is you need to truly heal from that pain. Kisses ๐Ÿ’‹ #TheBigChop #Haircut,โ€ Martha K shared.

Fans and fellow celebrities joined the conversation encouraging her to embrace whatever she is going through with love.
