Martin Kasavuli, son of late veteran TV personality Catherine Kasavuli has shared a conversation he had with his mother, where she insinuated that her days were going to be over.

Martin said his mother loved sitting on the side of the window in planes and on buses.

"I miss travelling with mama, every time we went for a trip together and most times I was the one doing the booking, she'd always say 'Kumbuka side ya dirisha ni yangu.'

"She's always been like that ever since those days za msamaria mwema bus. So one day I asked her, 'mbona unapenda dirisha ivo sana na tunalipa same ticket price?'

He later gave the reason why, saying his mother said one day he'd be the one sitting on the window's side when she is gone.

"Of course, I knew the reason why; she loves to catch scenes. She told me 'Ah wewe uko na siku mingi hapa duniani izi dirisha zitakutambuwa, sisi zetu zinaisha.'"

He added;

"Travelling alone today, seating on the side of the window that statement just hit me so hard. It's the little moments that matter."

Ms. Kasavuli succumbed to cancer in December last year at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

She was the first female TV anchor in Kenya. She began her career as a radio continuity announcer in 1980 at the Voice of Kenya, before transitioning to television in 1985.

In her career, Kasavuli graced TV screens as an anchor on Kenyan TV  stations including KBC, Citizen TV, and KTN.
