'You’re everything I prayed for and more,' Bien sweetly tells Chiki

Chiki, on the other hand, kept it short and sweet, referring to her husband as her best friend.

In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram page, Bien expressed his love and gratitude to his wife

Yesterday couple Chiki Kuruka and Bien Baraza celebrated each other on their marriage anniversary.

But for Chiki, her anniversary coincides with her birthday date and so the Sauti Sol frontman made sure he posted a longish message thanking her for being his soulmate.

"Happy Anniversary @chikikuruka. Thank you for being my person. I’m super grateful having you in my life. You’re everything I prayed for and more. May the rest of our journey be filled with laughter and happy tears. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 I love you❤️❤️❤️❤️"

The beautiful half-Nigerian/half-English Chiki also posted her own message on Instagram making a short and sweet caption that read, "Happy Anniversary Bestie 💜"

The message was also accompanied by a video in which Chiki introduces Bien to a crowd of people with some very lovely words saying,

"My client who I happen to manage, my husband. The first ever East African artiste to be part of the U.K Afro beat official charts ever.

The phenomenal, the amazing, the once-in-a-lifetime Bien. Let's hear you go crazy," she said to a lot of clapping and adulation.

The two then hugged and kissed as he took the stage.

In the Sol Generation docu-series that aired a few years ago, Bien described meeting Chiki saying that he met her at an event in Nairobi where one of his friends, celebrated photographer Emmanuel Jambo, was also present.

However, he did not know that Emmanuel and Chiki knew each other. On the contrary, he thought that Emmanuel and Chiki were dating.

"I met her standing at the parking lot with a friend of mine called Emmanuel and I was like 'Emmanuel unachapa kitu safi' (Emmanuel you have bagged yourself a beautiful girl). I actually thought her and Emmanuel were together," Bien narrated.

He said that at the time he met her, he had been single for almost a year and he was not really looking for love but fate...

“That night we ended up talking for so long and I was like this girl is intelligent. That time I had been single for about a year. When I met her, I wasn’t actually looking for love in her, but in her, I felt like I was drinking a fresh glass of juice talking to Chiki.” Bien added.

And what about Chiki? She said that she doesn't believe in love at first sight, but she felt that spark with Bien. "I don't believe in love at first sight, never have never will do, but Bien and I have had a connection from day one."
