•  While most of the billionaires are from West Africa, North Africa, and South Africa, Mohammed Dewji  is the only East African on the list.

• Dewji  is the owner of MeTL Group, a Tanzanian conglomerate founded by his father in the 1970s.

Forbes, Magazine has released the list of Billionaires found in Africa for the year 2023.

Top on the list is Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote who has immersed his wealth in the Manufacturing industry and he is worth Sh1.68 Trillion.

While most of the billionaires are from West Africa, North Africa, and South Africa, Mohammed Dewji  is the only East African on the list.

Dewji has diversified his business in the textile, beverage, and edible oils industries.

He is a Tanzanian billionaire businessman and former politician.

He is the owner of MeTL Group, a Tanzanian conglomerate founded by his father in the 1970s.

Dewji served as a Member of the Tanzanian Parliament for Chama Cha Mapinduzi from 2005 to 2015 for his hometown of Singida.

He is Africa's 13th richest person and youngest billionaire. He was also the first Tanzanian on the cover of Forbes magazine, in 2013.

The wealthiest people in Africa do not have a single stream of income instead they have an interest in multiple sectors.

The richest man in Africa is worth billions of dollars. There are several billionaires on the continent with shares and stakes in multiple industries.
