Former B Cbub spin master Felix Orinda also known as DJ Evolve has announced his plan to start a fund to help people living with disabilities.

The Evolve Fund will be catering to people living locally and intentionally.

In a statement, DJ Evolve said getting a second chance at life following the tragedy that left him disabled inspired him to found The Evolve Fund to help individuals with disabilities both in Kenya and internationally.

The concerts are set to be held every other month in Nairobi and across the country, and the proceeds from the event will be channeled into The Evolve Fund.

The first concert is set to take place on February 12, 2023, and among the deejays already confirmed for the event include

  • DJ Purpl
  • DJ Saint Kevinsky
  • DJ Mjay Kenya
  • DJ Namosky
  • DJ Twinn 48 and a host of several other deejays and emcees.

To raise funds, DJ Evolve partnered with Tufund, a crowdfunding platform that seeks to enable people to source funding for different causes, and Mtickets Events to organize a series of concerts dubbed Evolution.

DJ Evolve

Five months ago Dj Evolve's father Mr Orinda  revealed that Babu Owino, the Embakasi East Member of Parliament, continues to help out settle the medical bills without any questions raised.

Speaking to Nairobi News, the old man said he is glad with his son's progress.

“He is still helping; he has been arranging for my son’s treatment. Anything I ask of him; he does without raising questions," he said.

He also noted that despite the help that the politician offers, he continues to be there for his son both emotionally, physically, and financially.

"However, I don’t go to him all the time for everything because I also have to take care of my son as his father and provider,” DJ Evolve's dad stated.

Three years later, DJ Evolve is fast recuperating as he can now feel his legs and eat solid foods.

“He is doing well but is still living an assisted life. He is also starting to feel his legs, but he cannot walk yet. Right now, he is being taught how to sit down but continues to be assisted in feeding. It is good that he can now eat solid foods,” his father remarked.

If optimism was a person, then it has to be Dj Evolve, his father continued to give details about him procuring new deejaying equipment as he will be on the ones and twos sooner than we expect.

In 2020 as people faced and fought a life-threatening pandemic, DJ Evolve was fighting for his life after being shot in the neck.
