Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has thanked Kenyans for standing by him after he lost his dad.

The news was announced by the artist's management.

Stevo has asked his fans to pray for him and his family during this difficult time. 

"Nashukuru Sana mashabiki kwa kunisapoti huu wakati wote ila nimepata msiba wa kupoteza Babangu mzazi naomba mniombee na mnipee nguvu wakati huu.

(I am grateful to my fans for supporting me all this time. I have lost my dad and I ask that you pray for me during this period."

A statement by Stevo's management on their social media asked his fans to pray for his family during this tough time.

The management did not reveal the cause of his (Adera) death but said they woke up to the sad news on Sunday morning.

"We woke up with sad news this morning announcing the death of Anthony Adera, father to Stephen Otieno Adera famously known as Stevo Simple Boy. 

We urge all his fans and friends to stand with him during these tough times and put him in our prayers. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE 🕊️," they wrote in the statement.

Stevo is famous for his songs that revolve around social issues that affect daily societal living. 

He gained recognition after releasing the song, Mihadarati. 

Stivo Simple Boy was born and raised in the slum of Kibera.

 Luckily, he turned around the entire experience for good as he credits the tough upbringing for nurturing his talent in music.
