A man is on the run after he strangled another in a fight outside a bar in Syokimau, Machakos county.
Police said they are looking for a boda boda rider identified only as Peter in connection with the death of one George Otiende, 35.
The two had engaged in a fight outside a bar before Peter picked up a beer bottle and hit Otiende in the head.
Police said the accused assailant then strangled Otiende using his bare hands. Otiende died on the spot.
The assailant jumped onto his motorcycle and fled.
Police said no arrest has been made.
Machakos police boss Issa Mohamed said they are looking for a known suspect.
He said they are yet to establish the motive of the fight that turned fatal on Thursday morning.
Mohamed said the two knew each other and seem to have differed over unknown reasons.
The body was moved to the mortuary.
