A bouncer's duties are to provide security and to check the legal age and drinking age.

They also refuse entry for intoxicated persons and deal with aggressive behavior or non-compliance with statutory or established rules.

They are civilians and they are often hired directly by the venue, rather than by a security firm.

on the good note is that they offer security to people having fun. To them, their work is just to observe people.

Not to forget that bouncers have annoying behavior. Some don't like their job and they can piss you off even before you notice.

Some of them are too needy of people's pockets. You won't relax once they start asking for money. You walk into the club and the bouncer is like "Leo unaniwachia nini?".
