Pastor Ephantus Wahome ex-husband to Papa Shirandula actress Kawira is today celebrating his birthday.

He took to his socials to thanks everyone who spared time to celebrate him.

"It is a good feeling knowing caring, loving and capable people around you. I just want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who wished me well, sent a gift or attended the surprise birthday. May the good Lord bless and meet you at the point of your need," he said.

Ephantus also shared a video of a compilation of his photos, including those with the two children he sired with Kawira, and captioned:

"I believe that I am the equivalent to a fine wine or a delicious old cheese. The older, the better. I celebrate the gift of life, and I pray for good health, prosperity, wisdom and strength.

Anyone that comes in contact with me will be fruitful. I am thrilled to be another year older today!"

Kawira in an interview with Massawe Japanni said that their marriage failed over domestic abuse.

She was in the marriage for six years although she said she would have left early. Her experience during that time has put her off dating ever again.

"The thing that discouraged me is that if someone in the pulpit can do such things, that is what discourages me because guys are actors out there, it's just that they have no awards,"

"I'm done and dusted because I tried. I left for 8 months and went back, then after 11 months it got worse you see the children were growing, I had dreams of the perfect life, and I had such grand plans for that marriage," she said.

Kawira added that at some point she felt the church contributed to her marriage failing.

"We met in church where he is an ordained Pastor, I couldn't tell anyone in the church. The few people I talked to told me mwanamke ni kuvumilia, and these are pastors, the ones I talked to," she said.

Asked if she is divorced, Kawira said she is not in a hurry although she will not go back.

"Legally we are not divorced and am not in a hurry to do it but it's not like I am going back there, No," she explained.

Kawira explained that she is no longer comfortable living the kids alone with their dad adding that she would only be comfortable if the visit was supervised.
