Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has revealed plans to undergo gastric bypass surgery.
Saumu, a mother of two, had a Q and A session with her fans last night when she talked about her weight.
A fan asked Saumu what her current weight is.
Responding to the question, Saumu stated that she has recently not checked her weight but she misses her tiny waist.
"Hey, beautiful. What's your current weight?" the fan paused.
Saumu responded;
"Of late, I don't know but I'm really considering doing a gastric bypass soon. I miss being tiny ama ningojee mwili mpya. Enye nitapewa mbinguni (Or should I wait for the new body I will get when I go to heaven?)
Another fan asked her to consider things around mental health in early parenthood.
Saumu responded by saying parents should talk about mental health as some of them haven't healed from their childhood trauma.
"Some parents tend to be judgmental a lot to their kids. We need to heal from what cut us so that we don't bleed on those who didn't," she responded.
Speaking about being a mum to her two beautiful daughters, Saumu said it's such a beautiful journey.
She also advised the fan who asked how she manages parenthood to always accept that parenthood will never be smooth.
"Accept to be corrected. As a mother always put your children first before making any decisions and be patient with yourself you are doing the best you can."
Gastric bypass surgery refers to a technique in which the stomach is divided into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower "remnant" pouch and then the small intestine is rearranged to connect to both.
Willis Raburu is the recent celebrity who has talked about the procedure which cost him close to Sh900k early this year.
