Seven-time Formula 1 world Champion Lewis Hamilton is a happy man after spending some quality time with the Pokot people during his recently concluded Kenyan tour.

Hamilton used his official Instagram page which enjoys a following of over 29 million people to narrate his experience with the Pokot community and Kenyans can’t keep calm.

According to the British racing driver, he was accorded heroic treatment while in Kenya - a reception he would never take for granted.

I spent time with the Pokot people in Kenya and just to be in their presence was one thing... To be welcomed was something different entirely and a massive honor I don’t take lightly. The way I felt here is how I feel with my family back at home. We are all family, anyway.

The Formula one driver who is racing for Mercedes confessed that his Kenyan memories will stay with him forever.

I’ll carry this experience, and all my other memories from Kenya and from this journey as a whole, in my heart forever.

A truly unique experience ♥️ hope you had an amazing time, hope you got to connect to nature and to your roots in a new way. Thanks for all the pictures, so amazing to see,” another user commented.

Just the other day, Lewis put up a beautiful message, thanking the team at Reteti Animal Sanctuary for hosting him.

He shared his up-close moments with animals being kept at the Sanctuary and the reactions were amazing.

Thank you to the wonderful people at the Reteti Animal Sanctuary for not only hosting us but more importantly, dedicating their time to rescue, research and conservation. They're the first indigenous, community-owned, and run sanctuary in Africa, and the work they do for these animals should be an inspiration to us all.

Lewis Hamilton also used his platform to explain what happens at the Reteti Animal Sanctuary, in Samburu County.

They take in orphaned animals who likely wouldn’t make it on their own and release them back into the wild when they’re strong enough. This was a truly centering experience, one that reinforces that we all share this planet. We’re not above animals, we’re with them. More often, we’re guests in their homes. Every day in the motherland is more beautiful than the last. Much love, Kenya.

Before landing in Kenya, Lewis had visited Rwanda and Namibia.
