Kenyan content producer Kelvin Kinuthia recently voiced his unhappiness with a well-known media figure who he felt asked him an inappropriate question.
Ankali Ray, the anchor of the Uhondo Wa Milele feature on Milele FM, had called Kinuthia to ask about his sexual orientation, but it seems that this did not go down well with him.
A few seconds into the call, Ankali informed the Tik Tok star that due to the nature of his content and demeanour, people have been speculating as to whether he is straight or gay.
"First of all, I would like to congratulate you because people seem to love your content, especially the ladies. However, there is something that I need clarification on. Are you straight? Do you like ladies or do you play for the same team?" Ankali posed.
A visibly irate Kinuthia responded by asking why the presenter had called him to ask him these questions and remarking that it was impolite to inquire about his sexual orientation.
"What's up? Where are those questions coming from? It's not necessary and then why are you calling me to ask such questions? That's not appropriate thank you," Kinuthia stated before hanging up.
In a past interview with Diana Marua on her YouTube vlog, Kinuthia also stated that he always finds it difficult to enter buildings and malls since security guards have to search everyone.
“When I get to a mall, I always stand outside for a moment and wonder whether I should approach the female security guard or the male one.
I might go to the guard and he might turn me away like there was I time I was told to use the other line so I just got in.
Sometimes, when they tell me to go to the ladies' side, I just oblige because I don’t want to argue with them.
Actually, that is even better because most of the female guards know me so they allow me to enter the mall without searching me,” Kinuthia narrated.
