Musician, Stephen Abelz has become one of the first Kenyan creatives to do a song in tribute of the late President, Mwai Kibaki following his death on 21st April 2020.

The song titled 'SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO EMILIO MWAI KIBAKI' is uniquely done where it majorly features clips from the late head of state and less of Stephen Abelz's words.

The song has a sombre feel to it, capturing the current mood in the country, following Kibaki's demise.

Check out the song below;

Abelz' song will come as a huge welcome given that only he, Embarambamba, and Dogo Charlie are the only Kenyan artists who've shown efforts to pay tribute to the man who adored the music industry since the 'Unbwogable' campaign era.

Unlike Kenya, Tanzanian artists flocked to the studios to compose songs when President John Magufuli died.

The kind of unity shown by the Bongo nation's music industry was one to be admired, a leaf our very own artists should probably borrow.

The Wasafi family led by their CEO Diamond Platnumz and other legendary artists released 'Lala Salama', a song that garnered close to 10M YouTube views.

Konde Music CEO, Harmonize who had made news for recording himself crying and mourning President Magufuli, would also drop a Magufuli tribute song.

Bahati was probably the only Kenyan artist who dedicated a song to President Magufuli, a move that touched his colleagues from Tanzania as well as his Bongo fans.

His Kenyan fans also showered him with praise for representing Kenyans in standing in solidarity with Tanzanians.

Below are some of the reactions;

Simulizi na sauti: Kazi nzuri Bahati. Tunawashukuru wewe na Wakenya wote kwa jinsi mlivyosimama nasi kwenye msiba huu mzito. Asanteni sana.

Martha Stephen: We as tanzanians we appreciate and love you all for stand with us.

Chris Mavindu: Baha you've carried a whole nation's expression towards Magufuli's demise. Well done.

Johanes Machela: This song meant so much to me when you offered your kind words and sincere thoughts., Bahati thanks and all Kenyans.

Waren Braimovich: Thank you sooo much baha for representing us Kenyans, M/Mungu alaze roho yake pahala pema peponi...., poleni sana watanzania., Mungu awape nguvu wakati huu ngumu.
