Media personality Betty Kyallo has opened up about her co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband Dennis Okari.

"Co-parenting is working out, we are a good team. I don't know why people think it is not easy or it can never be that way?" she said.

Betty narrated, "The last time, like during Ivanna's Christmas Carol, we were together in her school. We were seated together and we were all crying when she was performing on stage.

Dennis was seated there with me and after Ivanna's performance alinigotta akaniambia (he fist bumped me), 'Manze, we are doing great.'

And I was like phekws, we are doing great."

Betty told Dr Ofweneke on his vlog, "For the co-parenting, we decided to make it easy because Ivanna is not the one who made the mistakes, she deserves a complete relationship with both her dad and mum and that is what we have always wanted to give her."

Betty said the secret to a successful co-parenting relationship is "being upfront and mature about it. because I was raised in a home that was not complete. My dad and mum separated and I know the impact of one parent handling everything, it is not easy and for me, that is one thing I don't want to put my children through.

It is just a conscious decision, lets love each other, we don't have to fight. After everything, we had a beautiful child."

Betty reminisced about her childhood and the hardship her mother went through.

"My mum her salary used to come negative because she has taken loans so that we can go to the best schools and so that we can have a decent upbringing.

So for me, that need for her to see us grow in the best way possible is one of the things I admire about her and that is one of the things i want to do for Ivanna."
