In a heartfelt birthday message to his daughter that doubled as an apology as well, Kidum revealed that he wasn't with his wife when she went to labour leave alone being in the country.

According to the Instagram post he shared, he'd revealed that he had travelled to Rwanda to help a friend of his with his album launch.

He acknowledged that he should have been with his wife or at the very least near her when his daughter was being delivered.

Kidum went on to add that even though he made the decision to be with his friend and not his family, his friend didn't see his act as a huge sacrifice and ended up betraying him just a day after the album launch.

He however revealed that he was ready to forgive the said friend, seven years later. Letting his daughter know that her birthday was also marking the power of forgiveness. Urging her to grow in the same direction.

Fans however noted that even though he'd shared cute family photos of his wife, the kids, and them as a family there was no penned apology to his wife in the post. Others reminded him that family should always come first no matter what.

Kidum wrote, "Happy birthday my daughter Nicole. That same day you were born I was in Rwanda helping a friend who was launching his album instead of being with your mum or near your mum."

He added, "That friend did not understand the sacrifice I made for him he then decided a day after to turn against me."

Kidum continued, "On this 7th anniversary of your birthday I want to declare officially that I have forgiven him. Your birthday has now marked the power of forgiveness and l want you to continue growing in that same direction. May God bless you!!!!"
