Joyce Omondi has revealed that her song 'Jibu', was inspired by the hospitalization of her dad.

The singer said that at the time she had wanted God to give her an answer regarding her dad's health.

When he did, it was not the answer she had expected. Speaking during Day Break with Willis Raburu, Joyce shared,

"When I did my song 'Naamini' /'I believe' my dad did not live for 6 months. By the time I released 'Jibu' I was questioning God as to why he allowed it (dad's death) to happen.

I was very bitter and very upset. I had written the song while he was in the hospital but I released it after his death."

Joyce says at some point she just decided to allow God to take control.

"I decided to allow God to lead me, I decided to trust that whatever was happening to me was for a good reason. I know some things will happen and I wouldn't understand but I chose to trust him to be the healer of my heartbreak. My song 'Conqueror' was written after my dad survived the bomb.'
