Things aren't going well for a certain veteran musician in Tanzania. The man in question is rapper,  Joseph Haule aka Professor Jay.

The former member of parliament for Mikumi constituency has been in Muhimbili hospital for 3 weeks now and is in critical condition. 

Things don't seem to be improving for Jay and now friends and family are requesting people to help contribute his medical bill.

The bill per week is Tshs 4 million which is roughly Kshs 200,000, something that the former musician can't afford at the moment.

Jay's plea was highlighted by fellow singer, Mwana Fa who highlighted the issues that his contemporary was going through on his social media.

Mwana also praised Jay for the great things he did for music and begged his fans to help contribute to his medical bill which is expensive.

"Nawaomba tu tuonyeshe mapenzi yetu kwa kumchangia matibabu yake ambayo gharama yake ni kubwa mno. Tujitolee kuokoa maisha ya MC bora wa muda wote nchi hii, mwalimu wa wengi." (I just ask you to show our love by donating to his treatment which is very costly. Let us dedicate ourselves to saving the life of the best rapper of all time in this country, the teacher of many)

For those who don't know, the 46-year-old Jay was a pioneering Tanzanian rapper who started his solo career in 2001 and released a number of hits, including "Nikusaidiaje" and "Zali la Mentali' (feat Juma Nature)".
