Singer Nameless has explained the concept of the new song 'Bandana Ya Esir.'

The song was released last week as a tribute to the late singer Esir.

In a recent post on his social media platforms, fans were giving a review of the song and one fan identified as Selector Jnr B shared his thought on the song.

In his comment, Selector among many others who commented said he differed with the execution.

"I Would Have Loved To See Everyone That Was At Ogopa Deejays label With Esir Atleast Giving us Something To Remember. Eg. Big Pin, Klepto Just To mention A Few. The Song Would have Been Even Much Better Having Part One to Three From Old Generation To The New."

He added that he would have loved to hear, the late Esir's voice in the song.

Well, Nameless said the song is a different kind of tribute that allows a generation that never really knew 'Esir' to associate and be inspired by his greatness.

"It was also meant to feature different generations of artists to bridge us and help us learn from each other's experience.

The concept was also not to sing about Esir but to sing about your life and strive to be fresh and cool like Esir."

Nameless added that people have different ways to pay tribute to a hero and this is one of them.

"I also know, because Esir was dear to many of us we all have different expectations on how he should be remembered.

Esir, like any artist in the video, would love respect from different generations and different genres of music.

And that's what happened in Bandana Ya Esir. Meanwhile, it is also important to know the idea came from the gengetone artist, Nelly the Goon, who was an Esir fan from when he was a kid.

I think it is important to let people show tribute in their own way and not limit it to a certain generation...

I am one who likes to bridge generations and encourage people to listen to different perspectives so that we can grow and be better as we learn from each other.

However, I must thank you for giving your feedback with such respect."

Nameless also revealed that there would be releasing a short documentary about how this project came about by Wednesday.
