Comedian Flaqo has opened up on his past relationship, before fame and money.
While at the university, he had a girlfriend who dumped him for being broke.
In an interview on Chatspot, Flaqo says his ex-girlfriend became fed up with him, dumping his belongings and moving on with another man.
"She felt like I was too dependent on her. When I went to pick my stuff, I found a different treatment. She had a new boyfriend and had thrown my stuff outside. I was so embarrassed because neighbours knew I was her boyfriend," he said.
But Flaqo was determined to make a living out of his comedy career and end his money problems.
"After that, I really worked hard, and it got to a point that I was comfortable."
One day, a breakthrough came after he landed a deal with Airtel Company.
Out of nowhere, she came after me, saying she fuelled my success. I sent her KSh 100,000. It was out of anger, given a chance I will take it back," Flaqo shared.
Before landing advertising gigs with corporate companies, Flaqo says he survived by borrowing money from friends and his parents.
"I owed Seth Gor a lot of money. Am sure he used to see my calls and know that I want to borrow money again. He really paid my rent for a number of months."
