Police in Ugenya Sub-county have arrested a 26-year-old man ferrying seven sacks of bhang.
The man who has been identified as Jared Okoyo Abucheri was transporting the commodity on a motorcycle when police officers who were on patrol intercepted him along Sega-Ugunja road.
The officers stopped the suspect who was speeding and established that the luggage that he was carrying was several brooms of cannabis sativa which was stuffed in the seven sacks.
Siaya County Police Commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the arrest of the suspect, noting that he will be arraigned in court to be charged with being in possession of an outlawed commodity.
