Anne Adhiambo Akinyi, the main suspect in the brutal murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo is ready to plead guilty.

This emerged on Wednesday following an age and mental assessment carried out at the Mathare Hospital in Nairobi which confirmed that she is fully fit to stand trial contrary to earlier reports that she may have been a child.

Adhiambo was presented before the court with different requests on September 27, where the court gave the prosecution 21 days to detain her pending the completion of the investigation.

A person believed to be Adhiambo was caught on CCTV fleeing the scene of Maigo's murder on the morning of October 15 in Jamhuri Street, Nairobi.

She was arrested in the Olympic area in Kibra Street after citizens informed the police about his whereabouts.

Adhiambo is accused of being involved in the murder of Maigo whose body was found in his home with 25 stab wounds, the suspect is expected in court on October 28.
