Baby Sagini tells court how grandmother took part in eye gorging crime

Baby Sagini.

Baby Junior Sagini who has been under state protection since December 2022, has appeared in court to testify in the case of his eye gouging, with the pre-trial case set for March.

The three-year-old boy whose eyes were gouged out in Kisii, went missing for hours before he was found dumped at his uncle’s maize plantation in Marani, Kisii County, with his eyes gouged out.Sagini appeared before the court via camera.

He told these details on a screen set beside the suspects. Citizen TV shared the proceeding where he is heard describing whom he lives with and their relationship to him.

He fidgets as the caretaker encourages him to talk.He was with a woman who was asked by the Judge to ask him to identify the people who gorged out his eyes.

Sagini told he lived with his father and his friend.

The short clip has horrified TV audiences upset at what the young boy was put through .Sagini has been under witness protection.

We came to learn this when Mike Sonko tried to take him for eye surgery.The three suspects, Pacifica Nyakerario, Alex Ochogo, and Rael Nyakerario, at the time, entered a plea of not guilty when the case was first mentioned in December 2022.

The main suspect in the brutal attack on Sagini was arrested and appeared in court in December.

Ms. Pacificah Nyakerario, 60, was arrested by detectives at a hideout in Nairobi and driven to Kisii County for questioning over the incident. She had fled on December 14, after Sagini was attacked by unknown people and his eyes gouged out at Ikuruma village, Marani Sub County.
