Juja detectives are still investigating the events leading to a tragic homicide before the killer turned the knife to himself on Tuesday night.
According to witnesses, Daniel Mwangi Wairimu, 39, had earlier visited his girlfriend Jane Njogu at her M Pesa shop in Juja shopping center, when chaos broke out between the two.
The two argued until Njogu, who is believed to be in her early 30s closed up her business, before they went to her house at Palyjote Apartments in Juja.
Police said minutes past 10 pm, neighbours reported hearing a woman's scream from Njogu's house.
They said Mwangi stabbed his girlfriend thrice with a knife on the back and a fourth one through her belly.
Neighbours coming to her rescue found Njogu's body in a pool of blood.
After the attack, Mwangi reportedly turned the knife on himself, driving it through his neck.
In an attempt to save him, the neighbours rushed him to hospital, but he succumbed to the wound.
The bodies were moved to Thika General Kago Funeral Home awaiting autopsy.
