Mau Summit Deputy OCS Joseph Lourien Akorot shot his partner dead before trying to end his life.

 Akorot was referred to Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital for further treatment after efforts to end his life failed.

Molo subcounty Police Commander, James Ademba said the woman was pronounced dead on arrival at Molo Sub-county Hospital.

Ademba urged officers to share their problems instead of taking tragic steps like murder or suicide.
