Police officers in Rachuonyo East Sub County have begun investigations into the death of a middle-aged man in Got Kowino village within Kokwanyo location.

The body of the young man was abandoned in an incomplete building where it was discovered Sunday evening by children who had been herding animals in the area.

The area village elder Joseph Owino said that he received information about the body which was covered with a sheet adding that they had no idea who the deceased was as no one had been reported missing in the area.

“The children thought the body was an abandoned luggage and proceeded to call neighbours who realised it was a body upon closer inspection,” said Owino.

The residents are now imploring owners of uninhabited houses in the area to either employ security officers or demolish the building to curb such incidents.

The area Assistant Chief Peter Odero confirmed the incident adding that the body had been transferred to Rachuonyo South Sub-county Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.

“We are appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident to volunteer the same to security officials,” said Odero.
