Yesterday evening, the lion statue synonymous with Miske Sonko's rule that was stationed outside City Hall was burnt. It is not clear what happened.

This comes after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko handed over some of the county's functionalities to National government.

Political pundits are yet to understand what the implication of that move really means and if Sonko still has a job or nah!

If the voters will have a say going forward etc, etc...

Kanze Dena Mararo, the State House Spokesperson said in a statement, "This will ensure Nairobi residents receive services efficiently. The move comes as a breakthrough in the running of county services that had ground to a halt."

Anyhow, here are the photos of the fallen lions - which is very symbolic - as they leave City Hall after fire ravaged them.

Will they be back? That is left for us to wait, and see.
