Saumu Mbuvi, daughter to former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko Mbuvi says that her ex-lover Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip once tried to take her life.

Speaking to Radio Jambo's Massawe Japanni, Saumu revealed that;

"I was going through emotional and physical torture. He said he beat me once because i'm bi-polar. I have accepted my situation, its not something to laugh about. He knew about my condition and knew I was taking medication."

She went on to narrate that;

"He would come home drunk and start strangle me telling me that he is going to kill me one day. Imagine! For what? There's a time he said he was going to kill me. My dad took Anwar as a true friend but Anwar betrayed him but I have beautiful kids to focus on."

Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke, Anwar admitted to having indeed beaten Saumu.

“Yes, but only once, before I knew she is suffering from a mental problem,” he said.

"She has a mental psychiatric problem called bipolar. That’s why we never stayed together. She breaks things, shouts and loses memory for even a week. Imagine, and all the Kenyans and media houses don’t know. I always hide this from people."

When asked if the Senator takes care of the child, Saumu burst into laugher and insinuated that he is a deadbeat dad.

"He doesn't even know what the child eats or sleeps. I'm the mother and father of the kids."

Saumu says she wishes the Senator all the best in his life and doesn't care if he is seeing anyone else.
