Gospel artistes Bahati and Weezdom were erstwhile friends but all that fell apart back in 2017 when Weezdom was kicked out of Bahati’s record label EMB Records. Things came to a head when Bahati deleted Weezdom’s music videos off the EMB Youtube channel and Bahati’s then newest signee Mr Seed faced off with Weezdom as he came to his boss’ defence.

In an interview with Kiss FM’s Chito Ndlovu, Weezdom revealed the following:

“ILIKAA STORY KUBWA JUU TULIBISHANA MBELE YA WASEE. WE WERE IN A MEDIA HOUSE AND THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING BECAUSE IT WAS BARELY A WEEK AFTER MY VIDEOS HAD BEEN PULLED DOWN ON YOUTUBE.

BASICALLY KILA MTU ANAELEWA MR.SEED NI ARTIST WA BAHATI SAA HIZI, OF COURSE AKO SIDE YA BAHATI IN ANYTHING KUKIKUJA PLACE YOYOTE KUNA MABISHANO AMA MASHINDANO. AND NILIKUA BITTER BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW THAT INGEFIKA TO THAT EXTENT OF SOMEONE WHO MENTORED ME COULD DO SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER ARTIST IN KENYA. I WAS THE FIRST ARTIST KUFANYIWA HIVYO.”

Time past and from the look of things, the gods do indeed laugh when mortal man makes plans. Weezdom and Bahati seem to have reconciled even as Bahati and Mr Seed are no longer bedfellows. In fact, Bahati invited Weezdom to his EMB Rebirth launch that went down on Wednesday, April 10.

The proverbial burying of the hatchet, however, was done on social media with Weezdom sharing a reconciliatory and congratulatory message with Bahati who responded in kind. Check out the message below:
