Victory For Kenyan Premier League As High Court Lifts Orders Barring Them From Running The League

The high court has Lifted interim orders barring Kenya Premier League from organizing parallel league matches. Justice Roselyne Aburili found and held that Football Kenya Federation had no capacity to bring proceedings against KPL whom it obtained orders against.

The judge said the interim order obtained by FKF on 20 February was unlawful, and the same are set aside.The court while making a ruling on the preliminary objection raised by KPL against the suit filed by FKF said that the court is concerned with FIFA failing to solve the dispute between the two organizations.

Justice Aburili further declined to order FKF to deposit money in court being security for cost, saying that it's upon the court to decide who is to pay costs upon hearing parties.

The judge further found it has jurisdiction to hear the dispute as opposed by KPL, saying that Kenya Referees Association and Sports Kenya were properly enjoined in the suit.
