It elicited mixed reactions from social media users. Those who believed that he had passed away sent their condolence messages hailing him as a great entertainer.

Interestingly, Obachi who fondly refers to himself as "the blackest man in black Africa" was looking very fit when he hosted "Roga Roga" which aired on Citizen TV the previous day.

The legendary presenter joins the list of public figures who have been killed by the internet over the past few months.

In December last year, Mambo Mseto host Willy M. Tuva came out to rubbish claims that he had died after an unreliable blog posted a story claiming he was one of the casualties in the horrific accident that occurred along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
