April 2nd, 2015 was one of the saddest days in Kenyan history, after terrorists stormed Garissa University College and mercilessly took away 148 innocent lives.

Some of the students were injured while some managed to escape from the campus' vicinity to save their dear lives in the wee hours of the morning.

In the midst of all that, one lady by the name of Rachael was able to survive the deadly attack after being shot seven times on her back, which is nothing short of a miracle.

Her spinal cord was severely damaged. Though she is currently confined to a wheelchair, she is still in high spirits, very hopeful and most of all, thankful to be alive.

She witnessed her friends being shot, and the heaps of dead bodies lying inside a hall are still fresh in her mind. Sigh!

Her friend by the name Chris Mureithi shared her story on Facebook and after reading it, I had to hold back my tears.

Here is the moving story that will get you thanking God for life!

Today I had a humbling experience to spend 4hours with my newest friend Rachel at the spinal injury hospital .Now,Rachel is a victim of the garissa university terror attack. She was shot seven times in her back, and lay on the floor for over four hours amidst her dead friends who had attended the morning devotion. She was shot three times at first then the terrorists came back, found that she was still breathing and they shot her four times more. When she was airlifted to KNH she was barely alive, she had lost so much blood that the doctors did not think she would be alive for more than an hour. She has been in hospital for about six months and undergone several surgeries and she is confined to a wheel chair having had her spinal cord severely damaged.I asked her what she would do if she met the people who did that to her and she said that she would hug them and tell them that she has forgiven them.I tell you I pulled a william Ruto....my tear glands gave way.....despite her affliction, she is cheerful and ever smiling yet some of you just because you have sent 250 shillings to the wrong mpesa number you are inconsolable....many of her friends died, many were shot in the head but they chose to shoot her in the back, she still wonders why they did not shoot her in the head like the rest, she saw the hand of God in a way that she cant comprehend, she still cannot wrap her mind around how in the world she survived, and she thanks God for sparing her life, she has never been bitter and this is what she told me, "Chris, you can never be bitter if you are thankful" ‪#‎enufsaid‬

Get well soon Rachel, you are a strong lady!
