Kenyan singer Dela Maranga can be easily likened to America's Adele reason being they both sing about their break ups real life experiences, or so I thought.

In her single, Mafeelings, she sings about how she was betrayed by her best friend and her man who were hooking up behind her back.

The lyrics of the song are so surreal that one would think that she went through a lot of suffering as a result of the 'betrayal'.

Days before the single was released, rumors spread like a wildfire that she actually had a spat with DJ Pierra Makena over a man.

But as it turns out, nothing could be further from the truth.

Although Dela admits that she and her man are no longer together, the break up was not as nasty as it is portrayed in the song. Far from it, very far from it.

In a recent interview with Mpasho, the songstress revealed that she and her man parted ways on a mutual agreement after he travelled abroad and prolonged his stay.

However, she is quick to admit that the break up still pains her and it was inspired her latest single with Gilad Milo dubbed Nakuahidi.

"I had started seeing someone after being single for a long time. But he had to leave the country and said he would be back. It was indefinite, he didn't say when or what and I have moved on from that," she said.
