News about a head teacher in Kisumu who was said to have committed suicide after he was transferred to another school was shocking! How can something really happen?

George Oruongo of Nyabondo Boys Boarding Primary was found dead at his house within the school compound. He is said to have been fighting against his transfer to Aluoro Primary School in Seme subcounty.

"We suspect he used a rope to hang himself in his bedroom," a witness said.

On May 31, the deceased is said to have suffered shock and was rushed to Nyabondo Mission hospital following a dormitory fire at Nyabondo Boys. More than 140 pupils lost their belongings and property worth thousands was destroyed. In February, another dormitory fire at the same school left more than 100 pupils in the cold.

Oruongos's body was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga hospital mortuary. Nyakach OCPD Hellen Chepkorir said investigations have been launched.

Unconfirmed photos of his alleged suicide notes have since emerged. In the notes, Oruongo expressed his frustrations, allegedly by the Teachers Service Commission and some politicians from the region.
