A church leader collapsed and died in Naivasha yesterday. The shocking incident happened before the congregation, leading to an untimely ending of the morning service.

The incident happened at DCK Moi South Lake Catholic Church, where Father Patrick Kuria collapsed and was rushed to the nearby Finlay Hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Florence Muia, the director of Upendo Village said that the church had noticed that everything was not alright from the beginning.

“Some of the worshippers rushed to assist the priest and rushed him to a nearby room for first aid before taking him to hospital,” she revealed.

However, earlier that morning, things were okay.

“We were with the priest on Saturday during a harambee with our bishop and he was in high spirits and did not complain of any ailment,” the shaken nun said.

The body was transferred to War Memorial hospital mortuary in Nakuru as burial preparations started.
