A tragic accident occurred this morning along Thika road near the Juja weighbridge involving a lorry and a matatu. The Matatu (KCC 220L) which belongs to the Kenya Mpya fleet is said to have veered off the road and hit a lorry. The driver of the lorry is was trying to avoid hitting pedestrians crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when the speeding bus hit it from behind.

Several people are feared dead including those who were seated at the front of the bus while the injured were rushed to Kalimoni Mission Hospital.

The accident has caused a heavy traffic snarl-up along the busy Highway. Here are some of the photos from the scene.
