Saitan Mgani Huyu! After The Naivasha Tragedy, Another Passenger Bus Bursts Into Flames Along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway (PHOTOS)

It's just a week after over 40 people perished in a horrific accident along the busy Naivasha-Nairobi Road after a truck transporting highly flammable goods rammed into 14 vehicles and set them ablaze.

Yesterday, Wednesday 14th, 2016, tens of passengers escaped death narrowly after Modern Coast bus caught fire near Mtito Andei area along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The passengers and crew members were evacuated from the bus which was on its way to Nairobi from Mombasa at the time of the incident. The vehicle was extensively damaged by the fire whose cause is yet to be established.

Coast regional traffic commandant Emmanuel Okanda said they have deployed police officers to the scene to assist in the investigation. Modern Coast management confirmed that all the passengers, and their luggage, were safe.

"We would like to let you know one of our buses has burnt down enroute Nairobi. It left Mombasa at 8.30am. All passengers were evacuated on time and are safe. Recovery bus sent. We apologize for that. cause of fire not known yet. #keepsafe," the company said on its official Facebook account.

Modern Coast added in a separate post:

"We appreciate the team work from our crew and passengers during evacuation. Cause of fire are not yet known. We expect delay in arrival to Nairobi of your loved ones."
