CID officers have arrested a Nairobi businessman in connection with the murder of policewoman Robina Moraa in Eldoret whose body was found with knife stab wounds in her rental house.

Her body was lying in a pool of blood.

The businessman identified as Joshua Ogach, aged 31, was arrested in Nakuru and moved to Eldoret immediately where he will be presented in court today over the killing of police constable Robina.

Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Johnstonne Ipara says the suspect was arrested at a hospital in Nakuru where he went to seek treatment on Friday moments after a failed suicide attempt.

“Joshua Ogach is the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of the police officer. We are still investigating the matter and will arrest anyone else who may have been involved. The suspect is in custody helping us with investigations,” Ipara said.

Ipara said the suspect will be charged with murder and attempted suicide.

Ogach tried to commit suicide by swallowing poison whereupon experiencing excruciating pain, he decided to seek for medical help at the public hospital. DCI detectives who were trailing him arrested him at the hospital.

The estate's caretaker Stanley Some said it was the second time in a month that the suspect had visited Robina in her house.

She had lived in the rented house for two months before gruesome murder.
