Bomet women representative Linet Toto was engaged on Valentine's day which came as a surprise to many since that was not the man everyone expected.

Almost everyone thought that the women representative was dating her campaign driver Gideon Cheruiyot who really helped when she was campaigning.

In an interview with Citizen TV, the driver broke his silence after Kenyans sympathized with him following the politician's engagement thinking that maybe Toto had ditched and forgotten about him.

Gideon moved many Kenyans after explaining how he ferried the politician during her campaigns and that he supported her after learning that Linet was just a hustler like him.

He however stated that he was happy for her for making that next step and clarified that they were never romantically involved that he was just doing that out of good faith and that he is very happy for her.

"I have seen things trending online that Toto left me and I really thank everyone for showing concern. We were never in a relationship. I was just a volunteer  in her campaign  and we never got to a point where we were romantically together or involved."

And that he is still waiting for a token of appreciation from Toto for everything that he did for her.

" We do not get time to talk like before  since she's been busy with work but when we talk  she always says that she still remembers me."

He still has hopes that one day his life will change for the better and he will get employed in the county office and government.
