Kiambu women's Rep Wamuratha is on the receiving end after photos of her donating bread to needy families in Kiambu were shared online.

Wamuratha said the photos were taken in Wataalam, Ruiru Constituency, in Biashara Ward, on Monday, January 23, where she shared breakfast with children as the schools were being opened.

Wamuratha also donated a packet of maize flour and bread to their parents.

"We will work hard to improve the lives of our people through empowerment programs as our people are not lazy, they only lack opportunities and together we move forward," she wrote in her photos on Facebook.

She added that measures are in place to empower the youths (who are the leader's main focus.

"We provide them with the support that they need to be successful, responsible, and engaged members of society. Pamoja tutasonga mbele."

Her act of kindness seemed to have rubbed some people in the wrong way.

While some appreciated her kindness, some questioned why she gave parents bread instead of opportunities to raise school fees.

Some also felt it was not necessary to post that on social media.
